TONDEÑA MANILA RUM
class PACKAGING DESIGN 4 / instructor THOMAS MCNULTY / semester FALL 2013 / duration 4 WEEKS
Tondeña Manila Rum was first created in 1902 by Don Carlos Palanca, at his distillery known as La Tondeña Distillers Incorporada. The distillery was the country’s lead producer of hard liquors and is now owned by the San Miguel Corporation.
The objective of this project was to create one design that would update the current look at its retail price using the original bottle shape and create a new design at a higher price point with gift packaging. Utilizing the history of the Philippines, the design is inspired by the nation's Spanish influence while incorporating traditional Filipino design inspirations.
